Messy 87

Messy 87 is a board game where players race to escape the gravity of a supermassive black hole. It was a product of my first game design class, the first module in CalArts x Coursera’s game design concentration, Intro to Game Design, which uses on-paper games as a way to introduce the fundamental principles of game design and systems without the need for game engines or specialized software.

Over the 4-week course I made 3 iterations of my board and instructions, tweaking rules, adding non-player characters, creating a narrative context. It’s wildly unfinished, probably unplayable, but it’s my first game and I’m proud of it!

Elfshot is a dark fantasy adventure RPG and third-person shooter, which draws inspiration from real world folkloric traditions to take the player between the world of humans and the Otherworld - the realm of the Good People - on a quest to save their family, their home, and restore balance between the worlds.

I came up with the concept for this game as part of CG Spectrum’s Intro to Game Design course, and created and refined a pitch deck and vision document for it.

Wunderkitty Dream House

WunderKitty Dream House is a 3D stealth platformer with light fantasy elements in a surreal, dreamlike environment. Players must make their way from their parents, Zaza and Pompom’s room, through the magical house, to the ONE FORBIDDEN ROOM, by discovering clues, interacting with art, and completing puzzles. But keep an eye on the Noise Meter and the “Agitat-o-meter.” If you go berserk and wake up Zaza & Pompom, it’s back to square one!

WunderKitty Dream House was also created for CG Spectrum’s Intro to Game Design, where I used it to develop my first Game Design Document.
